Meet Abulito

We often love to show pictures of our family members. Here is one we haven't had the chance to meet yet, Elmer Rene Mejia. Isabella Rene was named after this amazing man, Juan's father. Juan keeps him alive in our family, even though he pasted way about 12 years ago. This just happens to be the only picture Juan has of him.

In loving memory to a man we can't wait to meet.

Our Love For Books

Milla and Belle have started showing an interest in books. They are very cute to watch while they are "reading". Both will talk while they read. It is like they are reading the story to themselves.


Belle love books for what they really are... Cardboard! Not only is it entertaining to look at, but it also makes the best snack!

This is our favorite book, Moo, Baa, LA LA LA! by Sandra Boynton. In fact, all of her books are fabulous. As you can see, Belle hasn't completely ate her way through it. I have to put them out of her reach.

Milla is super cute. When she turns a page, she points and says "Oh, Wow!" She has also started to learn to say animal sounds. She can say moo, ba, sss (for snake), wow wow and quack. Speaking of new words, Milla has started saying Leche (milk in spanish). Belle, on the other hand, isn't saying much. I think she will always be the strong, silent type.

Pumpkin Patch 2008

Last weekend, we went to our favorite pumpkin patch. The girls were more interested in the old Radio Flyer than the actual pumpkins. Regardless, they had so much fun.

We love to play! I am not much for toys. All they do is accumulate in to the biggest mess. I found these blocks for super cheap and they love them. Milla is learning to stack them and Belle just throws them.

And the pot... wow, great toy. Today, Milla played with this pot for like an hour. They enjoy the simple things in life.

Belle can balance a block on her head. She must of learned that from her Papa Tom.... Need I say more...

14 going on 14?

We're almost 14 Months! Can you believe it? Here is a list of some new tricks...


- We walk everywhere! Goodbye Crawling!! On a good day, we can even walk backwards.

- We can go down stairs without assistance... Finally, I thought they would never learn.

- We fight over everything.

- Milla's new words are "oh, wow" and "thank you"

- Belle hasn't shown much interest in words. She bites to get her point across.

- Milla has fallen out of the shopping cart twice... Needless to say, We don't use them anymore.

- Belle eats card board.

- We have started coloring.

- We love Magna doodles!

- We will push any button.

- We enjoy splashing in toilet water.

- We wave to people.

- Milla will be a hip hop dancer.

- Belle will be a head banger.

- Climbing is still a favorite past time.

- We can kiss. They even kiss each other.... It is very cute.

- We still take two naps a day... Thank You, God!!

- We give Hi-Fives to each other.

- We now have separate bedrooms.

- We hate shoes!

- We started interacting more with each other.

- We are becoming best friends.
